Vitums Sign - Hepatic Pressure Maneuver to Identify Tricuspid Regurgitation on Physical Exam



Firm pressure with the palm of hand

→ inward and cephalad below the right costal margin for a few seconds

→ auscultation at the 4th and/or 5th intercostal space at the left sternal border

→ appearance or increase intensity of tricuspid regurgitation murmur
