Pharmacologic Treatment of Hypertensive Emergencies in Pregnancy

Drug - Dose range - Onset/oeak/duration - Side effects

 - Labetalol - Bradycardia, hypotension, fetal bradycardia

 - Esmolol - 1st-degree heart block, maternal bradycardia, congestive heart failure, bronchospasm; fetal bradycardia, persistent fetal beta-blockade

 - Hydralazine - Headache, aggravation of angina, tachycardia, nausea, flushing, hypotension, lupus-like syndrome

 - Nifedipine - Uncontrolled hypotension, stroke, myocardial infarction, flushing, headache, and reflex tachycardia

 - Diazoxide - Flushing, warmth along injection site, hypotension

 - Urapidil - Nausea, hypotension, rash
