Mechanism of Action:

 • Binds to ergosterol → Complexes and intercalate into cell membrane  →  pore formation and leakage of intracellular contents  →  cell apoptosis

Pharmacokinetics:

 • Concentration dependent fungicidal

 • Distribution: 99% bound to plasma cholesterol

 • Elimination: Tri-phasic elimination



Formulations: Amphotericin B Deoxycholate, Abelcet (Lipid Complex), Ambisome (Liposomal)
