The Clinical Team is a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and other health professionals, as well as clinical researchers, public health experts, and people who have run health systems. As a Clinical Specialist, you will apply Machine Learning (ML) to clinical problems. You will work cross-functionally with clinical and non-clinical teams such as Software Design, Engineering, Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, and Research to further our team's mission of bringing global health impact.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, insights, and direction on health-related products and features for Google’s health-focused products by working closely with product teams
• Understand the health and healthcare environment and ecosystem and translate this understanding into user-focused product requirements
• Identify relevant evidence-based practices related to the health and healthcare of patients and their families and use these to influence product development
• Respond to the needs of the businesses and projects prioritizing effort effectively by leading and contributing to projects
• Serve as an internal and external representative for Google’s health-focused work.

Minimum qualifications:

• MD and completion of accredited residency in primary care, dermatology, or radiology
• 5 years of experience in clinical work after the completion of medical training
• 3 years of experience in digital health product development including product shipment
• Experience with deep learning systems, training/developing ML models, and deployment of AI in medical devices

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in applying health equity considerations in product development
• Experience in clinical research and digital health evaluation
• Experience in a leadership role for a health technology company
• Experience working in ambiguous environments with cross-functional teams
• Experience in one or more of the following: product development, health technology, consumer-focused digital health, and/or working with or in government or a regulatory agency
• Proficiency in Quality Management Systems, SQL, and Python, using an ML model to conduct data analysis for analyzing models/data
