 • Age > 30 (post-peak bone mass)

 • Post-menopausal women -> Decr estrogen

 • Bone malignancies (MM, Lymphoma, Leukemia)

 • GI diseases

  - Celiac 

  - IBD

 • Chronic liver or kidney disease

 • Lifestyle Factors - smoking, etoh, decr activity, nutrition

 • Corticosteroid use

 • Primary endocrinopathies 

  - Hyperparathyroid

  - Hyperthyroid
