Right Heart Strain on POCUS Echocardiogram - Apical 4 Chamber

To differentiate acute from chronic right heart strain, what do you use as part of your next step?

Resolution: in the setting of a prominent RV (as big or bigger than LV) and concern for right heart strain, use continuous wave (CW) doppler to calculate the RV pressure. If over 40mmHg, there is likely a chronic component- https://twitter.com/EUSmkh/status/1016737112903864320
