  - Normal - No CSF effacement 

  - Mild - Some effacement of CSF; cauda equina nerve roots clearly separable 

  - Moderate - Aggregation of cauda equina nerve roots with near total effacement of CSF 

  - Severe - Total effacement of CSF and sac deformity
