Did you know that the tablets are color-coded? Here’s a mnemonic to remember the 9 different tablet strengths. —



PLEASE Pink 

LET Lavendar 

GRANNY Green 

BROWN Brown 

BRING Blue 

PEACHES Peach 

TO Teal 

YOUR Yellow 

WEDDING White





Why is this important? It’s an important counseling point and a good way to make sure patients are receiving the correct strength. With other medications, when a different manufacturer is dispensed, the tablets look different and patients are told that they look different but it’s the same medication. It’s important for patients to know that this will not be the case with warfarin - it will always be the same color, and if it’s not, it’s a different strength.
