Bullous Myringitis



Most commonly caused by Strep pneumoniae 

Bullae filled with blood form on the surface of the TM and burst with effusing blood 

Concurrent bullous myringitis and pneumonia is associated with Streptococcus Pneumoniae.  Treating the pneumonia will also treat the otalgia.
