Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Clinical 

 • Headache 

 • Nausea / vomiting 

 • Loss of consciousness 

 • Hypoxia, chest pain 

Management 

 • Secure airway as needed 

 • Apply high-flow oxygen 

 • Hyperbaric oxygen 

   - CO level > 25% (15% if pregnant) 

   - LOSS Of consciousness 

   - Severe metabolic acidosis (pH < 7.1)

   - Concern for end-organ ischemia
