A - Asymmetry - One half is unlike the other.

B - Border (Irregular) - Irregular, scalloped or poorly defined borders.

C - Color (Variegated) - Varying colors from one area to the next.

D - Diameter (> 6mm) - Melanomas are typically greater than 6mm, about the size of a pencil eraser.

E - Evolving - Changing in appearance with time.
