Elbow Effusion:Note diffuse swelling of elbow area in images on the upper row. In this 

case, the effusion was due to gouty inflammation. Since the inflammatory process was

intra-articular, range of motion was painful and markedly decreased. Images on the bottom 

row (arm with bandage) demonstrate the normal appearing elbow.
