Gaenslen's Test (Gaenslen's maneuver) for Sacroiliac Joint Injury

The patient dangles the symptomatic leg over the side of the table, knee flexed to ~90 degrees. The patient holds the other (asymptomatic) leg towards the body with both arms while the examiner stabilizes the pelvis and applies passive hip extension to the symptomatic leg, holding it in a hyperextended position.

The test is considered positive for SIJ lesion if pain is reproduced.
