Extensor Carpi Ulnaris (ECU) Synergy Test for ECU Tendinitis



With the patient's hand supinated, the examiner grasps the patient's thumb and middle finger with one hand while palpating the ECU tendon with the other hand. 

 The patient radially deviates the thumb against resistance.

The test is positive if there is reproduction of pain along the dorsal ulnar aspect of the wrist.
