Description

Lachman Test for ACL Injury

The patient lies supine and with the knee in ~20-30 degrees of flexion, hip in slight external rotation. One hand supports the thigh and the other grasps the tibia with the thumb on the tibial tuberosity, pulling anteriorly.

The test is positive if there is anterior translation of the tibia relative to the other side.
