Cyriax Release Test for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome



Positioned behind the patient, the examiner tilt's the patient's drunk slightly posteriorly and elevates the patient's shoulder girdle bilaterally lifting from the patient's forearms, holding this position for 1-3 minutes.

The test is positive if it reproduces their symptoms.
