Crank Test for Labral Tear of the Shoulder



To perform the Crank Test, fully abduct the shoulder and provide an axial load on the humerus.

Internally and externally rotate the arm.

Pain, catching, or painful clicking is considered a positive test suggestive of a labral tear.
