Acromegaly Testing Algorithm
INDICATIONS FOR TESTING:
 • Adults – enlarged facial or acral features, abnormal musculoskeletal growth
 • Children – accelerated linear growth
Tests:
 • IGF-1
 • Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) with 75 g load
 • Growth Hormone (GH) test (2 hours post GTT)
 • MRI to evaluate pituitary gland and consider evaluation of other pituitary functions
