Behcet's Syndrome - Treatment
Ulcers:
 • Treatment: Topical steroids
 • Prevention: Colchicine
 • Azathioprine for refractory disease
Arthritis:
 • Colchicine +/- NSAIDs
 • Azathioprine and/or TNF-α inhibitors for refractory disease
Skin manifestations:
 • Most manifestations can be treated with topical steroids + colchicine
 • Prednisone for refractory lesions
 • Derm referral for unusual or refractory lesions
Ocular disease:
 • Early ophtho referral
 • Systemic steroids + azathioprine (for post. uveitis)
Neuro disease:
 • Systemic steroids + (azathioprine vs. other immunosuppressive meds)
Vascular disease:
 • Systemic steroids + other immunosuppressive meds
 • +/- Anticoagulation (case by case)
 • Surgery may be needed for aneurysms
Intestinal disease:
 • Sulfasalazine, prednisone, and/or azathioprine
 • TNF-α inhibitors for refractory disease
