Doxycycline - Coverage and Indications
 • Staphylococci (S aureus + CoNS)
 • The tick stuff: Borrelia (Lyme disease), Anaplasma, Rickettsia spp, Ehrlichia
 • "Atypical" causes of pneumonia: Mycoplasma, Chlamydophila, Legionella
 • Pneumococcus (~20-25% resistance)
 • Moraxella, Haemophilus influenzae
 • Actinomyces
 • Groupable streptococci (although substantial resistance)
 • The animal stuff (sometimes in combination with other agents): Brucella, Bartonella, Q fever (Coxiella burnetii), Plague (Yersinia pestis), Tularemia
 • STIs: Chlamydia, Syphilis, Gonorrhea (weaker)
 • Anthrax
 • Malaria
 • Acne
 • Gram-negative bacilli (theoretical but unreliable)
