Rhizopus spp on Culture and Microscopy
A "respiratory" specimen from a recently deceased organ donor.
This organ donor culture grew Rhizopus spp. one of the Mucorales zygomycetes.
Morphology: unbranched stalks (sporangiophores), with roots (rhizoids) directly underneath. Often shorter, even less-septate hyphae than Mucor
